President Obama could step in - and speak up - on behalf of wrongly-accused Israeli military officials. Without a doubt, it could set a significant precedent for protecting both Israeli soldiers AND U.S. troops in the fight against terrorism.
But he hasn't.
The Palestinian Authority has petitioned the International Criminal Court (ICC) to prosecute both the State of Israel and several military officials for defending themselves in an attack from Hamas (a violent Palestinian Islamic political organization, as you may recall), claiming Israel committed ''violations of international human rights law'' - actions amounting to ''war crimes.''
And it could all play out in the ICC, a body to which Israel is not a signatory.
I urge you to read Jordan's full Examiner article here for more information.
I appreciate your interest in and involvement with the ACLJ's work across the country and around the world in the fight for freedom and justice. We'll keep you posted on our progress. Thank you!

Featured Court Case [VIEW ALL] Pleasant Grove City v. Summum (2007)
Ina unanimous decision, the Supreme Court of the United States issued alandmark First Amendment ruling on February 25, 2009 clearing the wayfor governments to accept permanent monuments of their choosing inpublic parks. The decision comes in the case of Pleasant Grove City v. Summum,a critical First Amendment case in which the American Center for Lawand Justice (ACLJ) represented the Utah city in a challenge to adisplay of the Ten Commandments in a city park. ACLJ Chief Counsel JaySekulow presented oral arguments to the high court on November 12,2008. The ACLJ asked the high court to overturn a decision by the U.S.Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit that ordered Pleasant GroveCity, UT to accept and display a monument from a self-described churchcalled Summum because the city displays a Ten Commandments monumentdonated by the Fraternal Order of Eagles. The ACLJ succes sfullyargued that the lower court ruling was flawed - a ruling that saidprivate parties have a First Amendment right to put up the monuments oftheir choosing in a city park, unless the city takes away all otherdonated monuments - a ruling that runs counter to well-establishedprecedent that the government has to be neutral toward private speech, but it does not have to be neutral in its own speech. The case is Pleasant Grove City v. Summum (No. 07-665). [MORE] ACLJ On Radio [VIEW ALL] MONDAY
